In this talk we present a set of high-resolution, finite volume schemes for the approximation of Euler equations in the context of atmospheric models. We introduce two classes of methods: methods based on a high-order extension of the Godunov scheme, and classical WENO-TVD schemes. We assess their performance with a class of standard test cases for advection and convection.
