Inoltre
Matteo Novaga e Luigi Vezzoni.

Exotic solutions of the Einstein equations and gravitational shielding
After a broad contextualisation, I will describe the recent construction (joint with Richard
Schoen) of a new class of solutions to the Einstein constraint equations that exhibit highly
anomalous properties both at a geometric and at a physical level.
In the purely Riemannian setting our methods produce asymptotically flat
manifolds that have positive ADM mass but are exactly flat outside a
cone of arbitrarily small, pre-assigned opening angle. In particular, using
basic facts about Huisken's isoperimetric mass one can see that these data
contain arbitrarily large stable CMC spheres that are not isoperimetric for they
volume they enclose. Furthermore, the gluing scheme that we develop
allows to produce novel classes of N-body solutions for the Einstein equation,
which patently exhibit the phenomenon of gravitational shielding: for any
large T we can engineer solutions where any two massive bodies do not
interact at all for any time up to T, in striking contrast with the
Newtonian gravity scenario.

The Bernstein-Sato polynomial of the Vandermonde determinant and the Strong
Monodromy Conjecture
The Bernstein-Sato polynomial, or b-function, is an important invariant in singularity theory,
which is difficult to compute in general. We describe a few different results towards computing
the b-function of the Vandermonde determinant X. In 1989, Eric Opdam computed the b-function of a
related polynomial, and we use his result to produce a lower bound for the b-function of X.
We use this lower bound to prove a conjecture of Budur, Mustata, and Teitler for the case of Weyl
hyperplane arrangements, proving the Strong Monodromy Conjecture in this case. Secondly, we use a
result of Narvaez Macarro on the duality of some D-modules to show that the roots of this b-function
of X are symmetric about -1. Finally, we use results about jumping coefficients together with
Kashiwara's proof that the roots of a b-function are rational in order to prove an upper bound for
the b-function of X, which we conjecture is the correct formula.

Miracoli a Via Panisperna
Alluminio e Fluoro, successivamente estesa a molti altri elementi.

Compactifications of families of smooth quadrics in projective space
We will discuss the birational geometry, dictated by the Minimal Model Program, of a classical
parameter space: the space of complete quadrics. We will see that the birational geometry of these
spaces is governed by some classical constructions such as the Fano scheme and the quadric-line
complex.

Gross-Pitaevskii equation from Quantum Dynamics, I
We consider the many body dynamics of bosonic systems in the Gross-Pitaevskii regime, a special case
of a dilute limit which is relevant for the description of initially trapped Bose condensates.
In this regime the dynamics is known to be approximated by the Gross-Pitaevskii equation.
In particular, for positive potentials, one can show that the reduced density matrices associated
with the solution of the many body Schrödinger equation converge in trace norm towards orthogonal
projections onto products of solutions of the Gross-Pitaevskii equation.
In these lectures we present a rigorous derivation of the Gross-Pitaevskii equation based on a
representation of the system on the bosonic Fock space, and on the study of the time evolution
of a special class of initial data, known as coherent states. This approach, first introduced
by Rodnianski-Schlein [1] in the mean field contest, and later extended to the Gross-Pitaevskii
regime in Benedikter-De Oliveira-Schlein [2], also provides precise bounds on the rate of the
convergence towards the limiting Gross-Pitaevskii dynamics. Moreover, in some limiting regimes
it has been used to describe fluctuations around the effective dynamics.

Tipaggio in Ludica del frammento moltiplicativo di CCS (Calculus of Communicating Systems)
In the setting of process algebras (CCS; _calculus; etc.), linear
logic gave a substantial contribution to the extension of the
Curry-Howard isomorphism to such calculi, used to model concurrent
systems. The focus of this work is the multiplicative fragment of CCS,
which simpli_es the problem, and thus the solutions, which can be
later extended to the full calculus.
The main issue is to preserve the non-determinism of the calculus. By
a direct typing in linear logic, this non determinism is lost, due to
the confluent nature of cut elimination - only one of the possible
outcomes can be kept. Type systems based on linear logic de_ne a
correspondence between CCS terms -or executions of a term- and LL
proof-nets, often imposing determinism in execution either by
restricting the process to functional behaviour, or typing only a part
of all the possible execution paths.
In this work we de_ne a translation of MCCS into Ludics, in order to
obtain a type able to describe all the execution paths and thus the
process itself. Due to the interactive nature of its objects, the
designs, ludics seems the right setting to de_ne a correspondence
between interaction (the equivalent of cut elimination) and execution.
Behaviours, sets of designs closed by bi-orthogonality, are used to
type MCCS terms. Exploiting particular noncommutative designs we
impose restrictions on behaviours, in order to rule out the
interactions not corresponding to possible execution on the translated
MCCS term. Indeed, since some execution steps do not commute, a
partial order is de_nable on execution; non commutativity in ludics is
used to match this partial order, allowing in the behaviour only the
designs whose interaction, with its orthogonal, do correspond to
possible execution paths.
In this way we obtain a one to one correspondence between interaction
and execution: for each execution path on the term there is a
corresponding interaction of the behaviour with its orthogonal, and
vice versa, preserving non-determinism to some extent.
