We consider travelling waves in spatially recurrent diffusive media, including the almost periodic and quasi-periodic ones as special cases. We first define the notion of travelling waves under such heterogeneity, and discuss their basic properties such as stability and uniqueness. We also present a variational formulation of the speed of travelling waves, which enables us to estimate the average propagation speed.
