In this talk I would like to describe some qualitative properties of positive solutions to semilinear elliptic equations and/or systems under various boundary conditions. In particular, I will focus on the effect of boundary conditions, the shape of solutions, and the stability properties of solutions, considered under different contexts. Examples will be used to illustrate the points of view and some background of the examples will also be provided.
