Module aims: MATLAB is an interactive, matrix-based system for scientific and engineering numeric computation and visualization. The aim of the Course is that of helping the students to master the MATLAB basics (how to enter matrices, how to use the colon operator, how to invoke functions, etc.), to learn MATLAB language, and to manage the graphic tools.

Module subject:

  • MATLAB development environment: command window, workspace, built-in funtions, help on line.
  • MATrix LABoratory: matrices and relevant functions (generating, concatenation, manipulating, colon notation, elementwise operations).
  • MATLAB language. Flow control: basic constructs, relational and logical operators. Vectorization.
Script and function files. Global and local variables.
  • 2D and 3D graphics.
