We study the two-dimensional viscous flow past a solid boundary using vortex particle methods. Vortex methods are Lagrangian methods used for the resolution of Navier - Stokes equations in vorticity-velocity formulation. For the simulations we employ the vortex particle code Diffused Vortex Hydrodynamics. I will present some validations and its application to a physical study for the flow past an elliptic cylinder.
