The general question of When can entanglement be used to enhance noisy quantum communication leads to a number of related conjectures about the additivity of quantities like the capacity and minimal entropy associated with a quantum channel. These will be explained and shown to be related to a conjecture about p-norms. Some recent progress will be summarized.
