Concentration phenomena for Mean Field Games systems with aggregation
I will present some results about stationary mean field game systems in the whole space Rn, describing equilibrium configurations for a population of rational individuals subjected to a coercive potential and an aggregation force. I will describe the variational framework for the analysis of these problems, and discuss concentration phenomena arising in the semiclassical limit. The structural assumption we make is on the growth at infinity of the coupling term in terms of the growth of the Hamiltonian, which is analogous to the mass subcritical regime for focusing nonlinear Schrodinger equation. These results are obtained in collaboration with Marco Cirant (Padova).

Higher order asymptotics for the CLT and for Large Deviation Principles for weakly dependent random variables
We discuss sufficient conditions that guarantee the existence of asymptotic expansions for the Central Limit Theorem for weakly dependent random variables including observations arising from sufficiently chaotic dynamical systems like piece-wise expanding maps, and strongly ergodic Markov chains. We primarily use spectral techniques to obtain these results. Similar ideas lead to higher order asymptotics for Cramer's Large Deviation result as well as for Gartner-Ellis Theorem in the case of weakly dependent random variables. The work on CLT is joint with Carlangelo Liverani (Rome) and the work on LDPs is joint with Pratima Hebbar (Maryland).

Bulk-Edge correspondence in interacting spin Hall insulators
We prove the perfect quantization of the edge spin conductance in spin Hall insulators . The cancellation of the possible interaction corrections is particularly remarkable in view of the critical nature of the problem (M. and Porta, PRB 2017). Convergence of the expansion holds in a disk with a radius vanishing with the Fermi velocity and how to overcome this limitation in related problems will be also discussed (Bonetto and M., AHP 2016).

Necessary optimality conditions for infinite dimensional state constrained control problems
We consider semilinear control systems in infinite dimensional Banach spaces, in the presence of constraints for the state of the system. Necessary optimality conditions for a Mayer problem associated to such systems will be discussed. In particular, a simple proof of a version of the constrained Pontryagin maximum principle, relying on infinite dimensional neighbouring feasible trajectories results, will be provided. This proof includes sufficient conditions for the normality of the maximum principle. Some applications to control problems governed by PDEs will be discussed. This talk is based on a joint work with Helene Frankowska and Elsa Maria Marchini.

Remarks on some convex families of holomorphic mappings related to the convex mappings of the ball in Cn
Nice representations of various geometric families of analytic functions on the unit disk, more accurately of their closed convex hulls, are obtained by utilizing the Herglotz representation of the Caratheodory class together with some elementary analytic characterizations of the families. These representations can then be used to give simple proofs of properties of (the closed convex hulls of) the families. As usual, things are not so clear cut in higher dimensions. Here, we present some results involving the family of normalized convex (biholomorphic) mappings of the Euclidean ball, working towards an understanding of this family that mirrors what is known in the one-dimensional setting.

Lozenge tiling dynamics and hydrodynamic equation
We study a reversible continuous-time Markov dynamics on lozenge tilings of the torus, introduced by Luby et al. Single updates consist in concatenations of n elementary lozenge rotations at adjacent vertices, with rate 1/n. The dynamics can also be seen as a reversible stochastic evolution of a 2+1-dimensional interface. The dynamics is known to enjoy especially nice features: a certain Hamming distance between configurations contracts with time on average and the relaxation time of the Markov chain is diffusive. We present another remarkable feature of this dynamics, namely we derive, in the diffusive time scale, a fully explicit hydrodynamic limit equation for the height function (in the form of a non-linear parabolic PDE). The mobility coefficient μ in the equation has non-trivial but explicit dependence on the interface slope and, interestingly, is directly related to the system's surface free energy. The derivation of the hydrodynamic limit is based on the so-called H-1 method due to Yau and Funaki-Spohn. Based on joint work with Benoit Laslier (Paris 7).

Some Minkowski formulas for hypersurfaces in complex spaces
We present some Minkowski-type formulas for real hypersurfaces in complex spaces. In particular, we study the horizontal Newton transformations, which are non-linear operators related to the natural splitting of the second fundamental form. Unlike the Euclidean case, these operators are not divergence-free: however, some Minkowski-type formulas can be obtained in this case, as well.

From classical to quantum and back
Microlocal analysis exploits mathematical manifestations of the classical/quantum (particle/wave) correspondence and has been a very successful tool in spectral theory and partial differential equations. We can say that these two fields lie on the 'quantum/wave side'. In the last few years microlocal methods have been applied to the study of classical dynamical problems, in particular of chaotic flows. That followed the introduction of specially tailored spaces by Blank-Keller-Liverani, Baladi-Tsujii and other dynamicists and their microlocal interpretation by Faure-Sjoestrand. I will explain how it works in the context of Ruelle resonances, decay of correlations and meromorphy of dynamical zeta functions and will also present some recent advances by Dyatlov-Guillarmou, Dang-Riviere and Hadfield. The talk will be non-technical and is intended as an introduction to both microlocal analysis and to chaotic dynamics.

The limit of the cut functional on dense graph sequences
The cut functional on a finite graph is a measure of the total number of edges connecting different communities, and can be used to find optimal splittings of the graph into highly interconnected components. It also arises as a spin functional with simple pairwise interactions between the nodes. Given that large graphs have increasing importance in applications, it is important to understand the structure of the limit of the cut functional when the order of the graph goes to infinity, as well as its relation with its finite counterpart. In this work we exploit the spin functional analogy, the theory of limits of graph sequences, and Gamma-convergence to compute the limit functional on dense graph sequences, in order to elucidate the structure of the interfaces in the large graph limit.

Estimation and Simulation of Higher Order CARMA and COGARCH Models
We show how to simulate and estimate Higher Order CARMA and COGARCH Models in the R package yuima. The usage of continuous time models allows us to manage irregularly spaced data (for example in financial time series due to weekends, holidays and breaks during the trading hours) without considering any missing data imputation method. Several routines for simulation and estimation are discussed. The flexibility of the package is due to the fact that the user is allowed to choose several parametric Levy distributions for the increments.
