We discuss an epsilon-regularity result at the endpoint of connected
arcs for 2-dimensional Mumford-Shah minimizers obtained in a joint
work with C. De Lellis (U. Zuerich). As an outcome of our analysis,
if in a ball Br(x) the jump set of a given
Mumford-Shah minimizer is sufficiently close in the Hausdorff
distance to a radius of Br(x), then in a smaller
ball the jump set is a connected arc terminating at some interior
point and C1,α up to the tip.

The Andersen-Lempert theory of holomorphic automorphisms of complex
Euclidean spaces Cn in intimately related
to various mapping problems which are usually classified under the
term 'modern Oka theory'. In this talk I will discuss some recent
results on the problem of separating a pair of compact disjoint
sets in Cn by a Fatou-Bieberbach domain,
and I will show how these can be used in the construction of
holomorphic mappings from Stein manifolds of dimension n to
the complement of certain types of sets in Cn.

This workshop is intended to discuss the most recent state of
the art in the field water under extreme conditions and to
identify new strategies to make progress in this field.
The topics that will be treated include supercooled water,
superheated water, aqueous solutions, water in confinement
and water at interfaces. A special attention will be devoted
to computational challenges and to the development
of new potentials.
Water is the most important compound in nature and it is
characterized by a very complex phase diagram with a large
number of different solid structures.
It shows many anomalies in all the thermodynamic space. Besides
understanding the behavior of water, in contact with both
inorganic and biological substrates and/or in solutions,
is of pivotal importance for a wide range of applications
in physics, chemistry and biochemistry.

Seminario di Algebra e Geometria
This is joint work with Christof Geiss and Bernard Leclerc.
The positive part of a symmetric Kac-Moody Lie algebra can
be realized as a convolution algebra of constructible functions
on representation varieties of acyclic quivers. We will explain
how to generalize this from the symmetric to the symmetrizable
case. In this more general setup we need quivers with loops
and relations.

Dopo

possibile consultare, caricare, ascoltare e condividere liberamente
a cosa serve?
digitali.
Ore 15:00, Main GSSI Lecture Hall, GSSI (L'Aquila)
Random matrices is one of those standard objects to which
probabilists like to compare many other random systems.
In that same domain of similarly behaving objects, many natural
classes of random partitions represent models both amenable
to very detailed understanding and naturally arising in applications.
I intend this talk to be a very basic introduction to the subject,
aimed at people who may have never seen a partition before.

We give an overview of construction of combinatorial designs using
tactical decomposition. Equations for coefficients of tactical
decomposition matrices of 2-designs are well-known. This system of
equations for coefficients of tactical decomposition matrices represents
necessary conditions for the existence of 2-designs with an assigned
automorphism group. These equations have been used for computational
construction of many examples of 2-designs. In this talk, we generalize
these equations and propose an explicit equation system for coefficients
of tactical decomposition matrices for t-designs, for any integer value of
t. We extend these results to tactical decomposition matrices of designs
over finite fields. We give insight into the problems we encountered as
well as results we obtained.
