We perform a rigorous analysis of the quasineutral limit for a hydrodynamical
models of viscous plasmas represented by the Navier Stokes Poisson system in
3-D. A common feature of this kind of limits in the ill prepared data framework
is the high plasma oscillations, namely the presence of high frequency time
oscillations of the acoustic waves. Moreover and other issue which makes the
limiting behaviour analysis very hard is the presence of very stiff terms due
to the electric field. We shall provide a detailed mathematical description
of the different behaviors of the various vector fields acting in our system,
what and which are the relationship between high frequency interacting waves,
dispersive behavior and the different roles of time and space oscillations.

We will start by a short resume on an operator theoretic approach to the
Nonlinear Schrodinger equation, with the aim to motivate a solution formula
which gives a unified access to the multiple-pole solutions. The main result
is a complete asymptotic description of these solutions, which was so far
only achieved for cases of low complexity by Olmedilla.
After an overview on the geometric and algebraic ingredients of the proof,
we will conclude by a discussion of cases of higher degeneracy and a comparison
with the situation for the KdV equation.

We are interested in optimizing the co-administration of two drugs for some
acute myeloid leukemias (AML), and we are looking for in vitro protocols as
a first step. This issue can be formulated as an optimal control problem.
The dynamics of leukemic cell populations in culture is given by age-structured
partial differential equations, which can be reduced to a system of delay
differential equations, and where the controls represent the action of the
drugs. The objective function relies on eigenelements of the uncontrolled model
and on general relative entropy, with the idea to maximize the efficiency of
the protocols. The constraints take into account the toxicity of the drugs.
We present here the modeling aspects, as well as theoretical and numerical
results on the optimal control problem that we get.

In 2008 M. Stessin and the speaker introduced Hardy spaces on general
hyperconvex domains. These spaces are defined using various plurisubharmonic
exhaustions and, consequently, vary depending on exhaustions.
The natural and important question in the classical theory of Hardy spaces is
about boundary values of functions. The major tool in establishing the
existence of such values in the classical theory is the Poisson kernel and
its properties. It was shown by the speaker that certain properties of the
pluricomplex Poisson kernel on hyperconvex domains provide sufficient
conditions for existence of boundary values of functions in Hardy spaces on
hyperconvex domains.
In our talk we will discuss a general approach to the problem of boundary
values, the role of the Poisson kernel and the conditions we have to impose
on it to obtain the existence of boundary values.

Presenterò alcuni sviluppi matematici recenti e alcune congetture aperte.

We consider the NLS on a star graph and on a tadpole (a closed loop attached
to an half line) and we compute explicitly the stationary solutions. Despite
the simplicity of the setting, the scenario is very rich with some phenomena
not fitting in the standard theory of bifurcations.

Two prized papers, one by Augustin Cauchy in 1815, presented to the
French Academy and the other by Hermann Hankel in 1861, presented to
Goettingen University, contain major discoveries on vorticity dynamics
whose impact is now quickly increasing.
(i) Cauchy found a Lagrangian formulation of 3D ideal incompressible
flow in terms of three invariants that generalize to three dimensions
the now well-known law of conservation of vorticity along fluid
particle trajectories for two-dimensional flow. This has very
recently been used by Zheligovsky and Frisch to prove analyticity in
time of fluid particle trajectories for 3D incompressible Euler flow
and can be extended to compressible flow, in particular to
cosmological dark matter.
(ii) Hankel showed that Cauchy's formulation gives a very simple
Lagrangian derivation of the Helmholtz vorticity-flux invariants and,
in the middle of the proof, derived an intermediate result which is
the conservation of the circulation of the velocity around a closed
contour moving with the fluid. This circulation theorem was to be
rediscovered independently by William Thomson (Kelvin) in 1869.
Cauchy's invariants were only occasionally cited in the 19th century
- besides Hankel, foremost by George Stokes and Maurice Levy - and
even less so in the 20th until they were rediscovered via Emmy
Noether's theorem in the late 1960, but reattributed to Cauchy only at
the end of the 20th century by Russian scientists.
I shall show how Cauchy's result can now be used to prove in an
elementary way the analyticity in time of fluid particle trajectories
for flow with only limited initial smoothness.
I shall also show how a time-Taylor expansion method exploiting
analyticity can be used to develop a Cauchy-Lagrangian method for
numerical integration of the Euler equations in Lagrangian
coordinates. This can be viewed as a numerical implementation of
Arnold's result that the Euler equation is a geodesic flow on the
infinite-dimensional manifold SDiff of volume preserving
diffeomorphisms. As such the Cauchy-Lagrangian method handles the
Euler equation as an ODE (in a functional space) and is far less
affected by rounding errors than numerical methods using Eulerian
coordinates. Furthermore, the Lagrangian formulation completely
avoids the usual Courant-Friedrichs-Lewy restriction on the time step
and can be several orders of magnitude faster than Eulerian methods.
It is expected that the Cauchy-Lagrangian method will eventually
provide good evidence for or against finite-time blow up of the
solutions to the 3D incompressible Euler equations.

coesistere virtuosamente tematiche analitiche, algebriche, geometriche e
