We consider various examples of critical nonlinear partial differential equations which have the
following common features: they are Hamiltonian, of dispersive nature, have a conservation law
invariant by scaling, and have solutions of nonlinear type (their asymptotic behavior in time
differs from the behavior of solutions of linear equations). The main questions concern the possible
behaviors one can expect asymptotically in time. Are there many possibilities, or on the contrary
very few universal behaviors depending on the type of initial data? We shall see that the asymptotic
behavior of solutions starting with general or constrained initial data is related to very few
special solutions of the equation. This will be illustrated through different examples related to
classical problems.

A well known theorem of Camille Jordan (1878) says that if G is a finite group which may be embedded
in GLn(C) then it is "almost abelian" in the sense that it contains an abelian subgroup H whose
index [G:H] is bounded by a function of n. The main object of this lecture is to present an
analogous result for G-graded algebras where G is arbitrary (in particular it may be infinite). The
main tools are Kemer's representability theorem for PI-algebras and Giambruno-Zaicev theorem on
PI-asymptotics. In the lecture I will recall the necessary concepts and terminology. Joint work with
Ofir David.

Let X be a complex Banach space with unit ball B. The family M is a natural generalization to
complex Banach spaces of the well-known Caratheodory family of functions with positive real part on
the unit disc. We consider subfamilies M_g of M depending on a univalent function g. We obtain
growth theorems and coefficient bounds for holomorphic mappings in M_g, including some improvements
of existing results. When g is convex we study the family R_g consisting of holomorphic mappings
from B to X which have the property that the mapping Df(z)(z) belongs to M_g. In particular we
consider radius problems related to R_g when X is a complex Hilbert space.

A combinatorial criterion for the Cohen-Macaulayness of monomial ideals will be presented. This
criterion helps to explain all previous results on this topics. Moreover, it helps to establish a
striking relationship between the Cohen-Macaulayness of powers of Stanley-Reisner ideals and matroid
complexes.

Two Stefan's problems for the diffusion fractional equation are solved, where the fractional
derivative of order alphain (0,1) is taken in the Caputòs sense. The first one has a constant
condition on x = 0 and the second presents a flux condition T_x (0, t) = frac [q] [t ^ [alpha/2]] .
An equivalence between these problems is proved and the convergence to the classical solutions is
analyzed when alphanearrow 1 recovering the heat equation with its respective Stefan's condition.
