In this talk, I will present some recent results regarding the resonant structure as well as the
stability and long term diffusion phenomena for hypothetical trojan companions to giant exoplanets.
In particular, I will discuss a theoretical formalism appropriate for the study of secondary
resonances in the space of proper elements (actions), defined for tadpole motions. I will also
introduce some numerical results obtained within the framework of the elliptic restricted three body
problem using i) FLI stability maps and ii) integrations of ensembles of orbits within the web of
secondary resonances.

We consider the classical problem in optimal design consisting in mixing two materials (electric or
thermic) with given proportions in order to maximize or minimize the energy (compliance and energy
problem). We show the existence of second derivatives for the solutions of the corresponding relaxed
problems. This applies to prove that the problem of mixing two materials in order to minimize the
first eigenvalue of the corresponding operator has not an unrelaxed solution in general.

We study the domain of attraction of an asymptotically stable fixed point of the feedback
interconnections of two nonlinear systems. For each subsystem we introduce an auxiliary system and
assume that it is uniformly locally asymptotically stable at the origin. It is then shown that each
subsystem is integral input-to state stable (iISS) regarding the state of the other subsystem as
input. If the interconnection of the two subsystems satisfies a small gain condition, an estimate
for the domain of attraction of the whole system may be obtained.

We study the dynamics of a family K_alpha of discontinuous interval maps whose (infinitely many)
branches are Moebius transformations in SL(2, Z), and which arise as the critical-line case of the
family of (a, b)-continued fractions. We provide an explicit construction of the bifurcation locus
E_KU for this family, showing it is parametrized by Farey words and it has Hausdorff dimension zero.
As a consequence, we prove that the metric entropy of K_alpha is analytic outside the bifurcation
set but not differentiable at points of E_KU, and that the entropy is monotone as a function of the
parameter. Finally, we prove that the bifurcation set is combinatorially isomorphic to the main
cardioid in the Mandelbrot set, providing one more entry to the dictionary developed by the authors
between continued fractions and complex dynamics. (joint work with Stefano Isola and Giulio Tiozzo)

We revisit the problem of extending the Prym map to the compactification of the moduli space of
etale double covers of curves. It was shown by Friedman and Smith that the Prym map does not extend
to a morphism, and the indeterminacy locus of the map to the second Voronoi toroidal
compactification of the moduli space of abelian varieties was determined by Alexeev, Birkenhake,
Hulek, and Vologodsky. We give a streamlined approach to this result, and the recent extension
results for the Torelli map of Alexeev and Brunyate, and also study the indeterminacy locus of the
Prym map to other toroidal compactifications. Joint work with S. Casalaina-Martin, K. Hulek, R.
