Symmetry in Geometry and Physics

This conference, on the occasion of Dmitri Alekseevsky's sixty-fifth birthday, will be devoted to topics in differential geometry and mathematical physics related to his scientific activity. The aim is to bring together mathematicians and physicists with the hope of promoting dialogue across the interdisciplinary boundary and offering an overview of new directions of research in areas such as:

 

·  Lie groups, homogeneous spaces and, more generally, transfomation groups on manifolds

·  Special Riemannian structures, for instance, Kähler, hyperKähler and quaternionic structures

·  Topics in theoretical physics, especially as seen from a differential geometric point of view
