The Mathematics department offers 9 doctoral positions with finacial support for three years:

7 positions in Mathematics,
2 positions in Applied Mathematics.

To gain entry to the Ph.D. program, students must possess a Laurea Specialistica/Magistrale, i.e. a Master degree. Studies carried out abroad and that have lead to a degree comparable to a Laurea Specialistica/Magistrale will also be considered. The selection of candidates for the Ph. D. program is done by public competition. Students that plan to graduate by October 31 2011 will also be admitted to the competition.
The 2011 International Call for PhD Applications in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics is now officially open. The deadline is July 22 2011. Candidates interested in admission procedures can find further information in the Admissions rules page.
