Laboratory - Teaching area

The Laboratory (teaching area) consists of two classrooms mainly used for computer practice of the degree programmes and of master in Scientific Computing. In the opening hours, when there are no lesson with a teacher, the students can freely access to the classrooms to carry out activities related to their courses.
The Laboratory has a server and 47 PCs with Linux operating system, organized on a local area network. Students have access to a rich collection of software applications (main compilers, Mathematica, Matlab, Scilab, Octave, Freefem, CoCoA, R, graphics products, etc.). Both classrooms are equipped with beamer and sound system.
Access to the network is controlled by a firewall, allowing to reach the sites useful for teaching activity, but does not allow to surf freely on the Internet.
